Sergii Grybniak is a Ukrainian-American computer scientist and researcher specializing in distributed ledger technologies (DLT) and standards.[1]

Career

Grybniak has conducted research on decentralized systems, transactions processing on blockchain platforms, and consensus protocols. He has published work related to blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.[2][3] He helped found the working group that developed the IEEE P3271.01 draft standard, which establishes a framework for automated recurring transactions on distributed ledger platforms.[4] He also served as the treasurer and currently serves as a Secretary of IEEE Ukraine Section.[5][6]

Selected awards

  • IEEE TEMS Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation/Thesis Award - Grybniak received this award from the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society Technical Committee on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies and the NTU Singapore Centre for Computational Technologies for his doctoral research contributions.[7][8]
  • IEEE Standards Association Emerging Technology Award - he was a founding member of the IEEE P3271.01 Working Group for the Draft Standard for Recurring Transactions Using Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs).[9] The group was honored with this award for its work on the standard.[10][11]
  • IEEE Blockchain Technical Community Region 8 Technical Merits Award - this regional technical award from the IEEE Blockchain Technical Community for achievements in blockchain research and community impact.[12]
  • Honorable Researcher - he was awarded this title by Odessa National Polytechnic University for his academic and professional contributions. This title is one of the university's highest distinctions.[13]
