Anemone sylvestris (snowdrop anemone) is a perennial plant flowering in spring, native to meadows and dry deciduous woodlands of central and western Europe. It spreads rapidly by root suckers and stolons.[citation needed]

Another name is wood anemone, but this more commonly refers to the European A. nemorosa or the North American A. quinquefolia.

Description

The species is 1–1.5 feet (0.30–0.46 m) and with white coloured flowers which bloom in April.[1]

Cultivation

Cultivars include Madonna.
