Ascobolus brantophilus is a species of coprophilous fungus in the family Ascobolaceae.[1] It grows on goose droppings.[2]

Ascobolus brantophilus mainly has an Arctic and Subarctic distribution. It described in 1989 from Greenland, Ellesmere Island and Svalbard[3] and has since then been reported from Iceland,[4][2] the Shetland Islands[5] and the Falkland Islands[6]
