Cyperus setigerus is a species of sedge that is native to central and southern parts of the United States , recorded from Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, and New Mexico.[1][2]
Taxonomy
The original spelling of the name combination is Cyperus setigerus,[3] Although the orthographic variant Cyperus setiger has been used in some later literature (e.g. McKenzie & Newbold 2020 [2]) as the classical spelling of the epithet in the nominative masculine is setiger. However, Articles 23 and 60 of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants[4] do not allow for subsequent emendation in such cases, as does not meet any of the stated exceptions.
