Ethmostigmus trigonopodus is a species of centipede in the family Scolopendridae.[1] It goes by a number of common names, including the African Giant Centipede[2] and the Tanzanian Blue Ring Centipede.[3]
Ethmostigmus trigonopodus from northern parts of Nigeria can reach sexual maturity within one year, which is uncommon in centipedes.[4]
There exist two valid subspecies,[5] E. trigonopodus trigonopodus, and E. trigonopodus pygmenasoides.[1][6][7]
