Everardia is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Cyperaceae.[1]

Its native range is tropical South America. It is found in the countries of Brazil , Colombia, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.[1]

The genus name of Everardia is in honour of Everard im Thurn (1852ā€“1932), author, explorer, botanist, photographer and British colonial administrator,[2] and it was first described and published in Timehri Vol.5 on page 210 in 1886.[1]
