Marasmius rotula is the type species of genus Marasmius.

This is a list of species in the large agaric genus Marasmius. (As of October 2018), Index Fungorum lists 949 species in the genus.[1]

Note that several groups of species which were formerly considered to belong to Marasmius have been moved to the new genera Cryptomarasmius, Mycetinis and Rhizomarasmius.[2][1]
