Persoonia teretifolia is an erect, often spreading shrub that typically grows to a height of 0.5–3 m (1 ft 8 in–9 ft 10 in) with smooth bark and branches covered with greyish hairs when young. The leaves are linear, 15–70 mm (0.59–2.76 in) long, 0.9–1.5 mm (0.035–0.059 in) wide and curved upwards.
