Quercus splendens is a species of oak native to central Mexico (México State, Guerrero, Jalisco, Nayarit, Sinaloa, Michoacán, Oaxaca).[2][3]
Quercus splendens is a deciduous tree growing up to 15 metres (49 feet) tall, with gray bark and branching hairs that look like stars under the microscope. The leaves are thick and leathery, up to 18 centimetres (7 inches) long, with a few shallow lobes on the edges.[3][4]
