Sittilong is a genus of spiders in the family Salticidae (jumping spiders). (As of September 2017), it has only one species, Sittilong longipes,[1] found in Austria, France , Italy, and Switzerland . It is native to Alps.[2]
Taxonomy
Sittilong is one of a number of genera that were split off from the broadly defined genus Sitticus by Jerzy Prószyński in 2016 and 2017. Sittilong was erected in 2017, with the type species Attus longipes.[1] The generic name is derived from the first parts of the generic and specific names of Sitticus longipes, the name used for the type species before transfer to Sittiflor.[3]
