The Sociedad Latinoamericana de Biología Matemática (Latin American Society of Mathematical Biology) is a Latin American society formed by researchers in areas related to quantitative biology whose objectives are to disseminate, promote and contribute to the generation of biological knowledge through the application of quantitative tools and mathematical modeling to problems related to biological phenomena.[1]

The Latin American Society of Mathematical Biology was established on November 27 of the year 2002, during the General Assembly of the Latin American Congress of Biomathematics (XI Congress of the ALAB and VI ELAEM), in the city of Guanajuato, (Mexico).
