The Synetini are a small tribe within the leaf beetle subfamily Eumolpinae. They are found entirely within the Holarctic, mainly in North America but also appearing in parts of Europe and Asia. They were often historically classified as a subfamily in their own right, either within the Chrysomelidae or the Orsodacnidae. They are now referred to by some authors as a tribe of Eumolpinae, but others have criticised this placement and prefer to designate them as a separate subfamily of leaf beetles.[2][3]
Genera
Two genera belong to the tribe, containing a total of 12 described species:
- Syneta Dejean, 1835
- Thricolema Crotch, 1874[4]
