Details

Syzygium acre is a pachycaul "palmoid" or corner mdel tree which grows up to 33 feet (10 meters) in height, usually unbranched, but it can have two or three vertical reiterations with a rosette of enormous leaves at the top of each,[1] with each leaf growing to five feet (1.5 meters) in length by 16 inches (38 cm) wide. The young leaves and the flowers are pinkish. These flowers are cauliflorous (grow directly out of the trunk) and are about two inches (5 cm) long, and pendant. The fruit is dark purple and fibrous.[2]
