Cactus Communications is a scientific communications and technology company in India.[1][2]

History

Abhishek Goel was in Japan as part of an exchange programme and wished to start a waste management company in India. A researcher at the University of Tokyo asked him to edit his research paper that was to be submitted to an international journal that led to the establishment of Cactus Communications. He came back to India in 2002 and started the company with his brother Anurag Goel[3] in Mumbai using capital from their personal savings. The company opened offices in Japan, South Korea, India, China, Singapore, Denmark, the UK, and the US[2] and announced the launch of a platform to provide research and information on COVID-19 in 2020.[4][5][6][7]

The company is said to have helped incubate and funded the UK based company, Kolabtree.[8][9]

It acquired UNSILO, an AI and NLP company based in Denmark, for an undisclosed amount[10][11][12]

Cactus has appointed Deborah Wyatt as its Vice President.[13]

In 2020 the company had conducted a survey of 13,000 researchers globally between October 2019 to July 2020 to assess their mental health, which found 37% respondents to have sought help for their mental health.[14]

The company has reported revenue of 250 crore in FY2016.[2]
