Casablanca.AI (or Casablanca.AI GmbH) is an AI startup based in Baden-Württemberg, Germany in Europe that offers a virtual camera for real-time head and gaze optimization to establish face-to-face connection in video conferencing tools without the need for any additional hardware. [1] [2]The company was founded in 2020 in Pforzheim by Carsten Kraus who is a serial entrepreneur. [3][4] Casablanca.AI has been awarded the "AI-Champions of Baden-Württemberg" Award 2022 by the Economics Minister of Baden-Württemberg. [5][6]
The core technology of the Casablanca software is based on GAN, and the software can also be used as a standalone application and is primarily integrated as a virtual camera in video applications like Skype, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and WebX, etc. [7] This allows the user to enjoy the seamless feeling of face-to-face contact even in video conferencing.
