CharterUP is a U.S.-based technology company operating an online marketplace for charter buses and private shuttles. It provides a comprehensive online bus marketplace that features real-time pricing and availability, combining live data from over 600 bus operators across the United States, offering customers access to a combined fleet of more than 4,000 vehicles.[1]

History

CharterUP was founded in 2018 by CEO Armir Harris to help bus operators gain market share online while also bringing customers accountability and transparency. Harris first came to the U.S. as a political refugee from Albania and helped with operations at his extended family’s limousine company in Charlotte, North Carolina.[2] In 2012, he founded Shofur, a transportation logistics business that grew by 10,000 percent in just three years.

Noticing a need for a platform bringing together charter bus providers from all over the country, Harris founded CharterUP in 2018 to make group transportation more accessible. Since launching in 2018, the company has built a client roster of Fortune 500 companies[3] and achieved over 100% annual growth.[4]

In October 2022, the company announced that it had raised $60 million in Series A funding led by Tritium Partners.[5][6] CharterUP is using the first-time capital injection to accelerate national expansion and product development.

In May 2023, CharterUP announced the addition of a product and technology hub in Austin, Texas , with plans to hire more than 100 team members to help develop CharterUP’s technology platform.[7] The company's sales and customer support teams remain in Atlanta, Georgia.
