The company was founded in Salt Lake City, Utah, where is it still currently headquartered, in 2014 by Ryan Anderson and Nate Morris, along with systems engineer Jim Blake. [3]

According to Crunchbase[4], The company has received funding from six investors, including Meritech Capital Partners, Signal Peak Ventures, Stepstone Group, Golub Capital, Album VC, and Jonathan Ord, through six rounds of funding.

Filevine has received multiple rounds of funding since its establishment. The company's first seed round of funding was in 2017, followed by another seed round in 2018. In 2019,

In 2023, Filevine launched Demands.AI.[15] Using machine learning and natural language processing, DemandsAI is designed to analyze legal demand letters and provide insights to legal professionals. The product aims to help legal teams better understand the claims made in demand letters and make informed decisions about how to respond to them.
