HotelFriend[1] is an international IT company, R&D center, and provider of business software that specializes in solutions and products for the travel and hospitality sectors, which include software development, cloud computing, e-commerce, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), as well as mobile and desktop app development services.
History
HotelFriend was founded in 2017[2] by Denis Severyuk and Besarioni Kamarauli with active participation of Frank Doepelheuer[3], an owner of Waldhotel Harz[4]. With intent to build a hotel technology which will fill the need for digitalization and automation, and a lack of guest experience-oriented solutions in the hospitality sector.
Software and services
The company provides more then 20 solutions, tools, and products designed for the hospitality and restaurant industry, offering its clients comprehensive project management from the initial idea to the set-up and maintenance of tailor-made software solutions, as well as a full range of support.
Property Management Software
All-in-one software for daily hotel management include Property management system (PMS), Channel Manager, Booking Engine (Online hotel reservations), Central Reservation System (CRS), Guest Concierge App, Order Management System, Automation, Virtual Office, all built on a cloud-based architecture.
Web and app development
HotelFriend develops solutions aimed at improving the guest experience, namely Concierge App, self-service tools, and Mobile POS. Also, the company provides white label app and website development services.
IT consulting
As the team has deep knowledge in the hospitality industry, the company offers a range of IT consulting services, namely: providing expertise in digitalization; identifying problems and implementing improvements; initiating change; training staff.
Activities and Initiatives
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and new challenges to the workplace it has brought, HotelFriend has launched a free program.[5]
It included effective solutions that make it possible to manage all the hotel business processes remotely, starting from checking-in and out to guests’ service and food orders. The company canceled the subscription fee[6] for SaaS for new customers during a quarantine.
Software-as-service (SaaS) leasing program program
The leasing offer[7] was tailored for the hotel industry and comprised a set of essential software products for hotels. Additionally, hoteliers could test the HotelFriend software for up to 30 days without any obligation before the contract is concluded.
Launch of the Small Business Assistance Initiative
The Small Business Assistance Initiative was launched with an aim to both advance the digitization of the processes and preserve their liquidity. A new service offer, the HotelFriend software package[8], was initiated in cooperation with AGL Activ Services GmbH. With this package, hoteliers got access to all services and guarantees at stable monthly rates[9].
Reopening Guidelines for Hoteliers in a Crisis
In regards to the new safety requirements, HotelFriend brought together practical guidelines[10] for faster hotel reopening when the pandemic ends.
How to adapt to new hygiene and safe travel standards
HotelFriend identified signs of a safe hotel and made a checklist of markers to indicate the hotel is safe to stay in[11].
Solutions for keeping the environment and sustainability
The company covered ways to integrate green practices[12] in hotel operations with eco-friendly tech solutions and the Smart Resilient Hotel concept.
Helping volunteers administer shelters for Ukrainians displaced by war
Software solutions by HotelFriend were offered free of charge[13] to volunteers and charitable organizations that provided shelter to Ukrainians fleeing war. This initiative was launched to give the reception centers and other temporary settlements digital tools to facilitate the administration and planning processes.

Schwimmstart Gemeinschaft Leipzig (SSG)
HotelFriend became a sponsor[14] of the SSG, an enthusiastic youth swimming team in 2018.
