Currently, MDBootstrap is among the top Polish technology startups, ranking 3rd in Poland and 169th in the world, respectively[3]. In 2019, Dawid Adach and Michal Szymanski co-founders of MDBootstrap were included by the Forbes magazine on the list "30 under 30"[4].

MDBBootstrap is the tenth most starred project on GitHub, with over 152,000 stars, behind freeCodeCamp (over 328,000 stars), Vue.js framework, React library, TensorFlow and others.[5]

History

The company was founded by Dawid Adach and Michal Szymanski in 2016 when they decided to quit their current full-time jobs and focus on growing their own company. In the beginning, they had simple website templates in their offer which, together with the incoming critical as well as factual feedback, they tried to improve. After a few months of hard work their main product saw the light of day, the UI Kit based on Bootstrap 3 which after a short time was replaced by Bootstrap 4[6].

The growing company and the popularity of the product made it possible to hire employees, whose number grew to 20 within a few months. With a very fast-growing new user base and their new needs, MDBootstrap decided to release software based on Angular, React, and Vue to allow them the flexibility to choose their favorite technology[7].

MDBootstrap was the first to release a UI kit using Bootstrap version 5 just a few days after its official release[8].

The products offered by MDB are available in both free and pro versions in order to fund future projects, such as the latest version of free hosting, MDB GO, or the Drag & Drop website builder.

A noble cause that MDB's staff decided to undertake was to build software to manage the needs of hospitals. The initiative was driven by a desire to help healthcare workers who were struggling day and night with the rising tide of the pandemic. On the Dawka Wsparcia website they built, more than 400 hospitals requested IT equipment, medical equipment, sim cards, routers, intercoms (electric nannies), but also personal protective equipment (masks, gowns, goggles, gloves, visors, etc.) and disinfection products, among other things[9]
