Qontigo is a financial technology company that was created in 2019 through the combination of index providers STOXX, DAX and risk analytics firm - Axioma. Qontigo is part of Deutsche Börse Group, and headquartered in Eschborn, Germany with key locations in New York City , Zug and London. The root of the brand name Qontigo means “with you”.[1]

History

On September 16th, 2019 Deutsche Börse has announced its acquisition of Axioma Inc. which was combined with STOXX and DAX to form Qontigo.[2] As part of the acquisition, Deutsche Börse entered into a strategic partnership with General Atlantic, a global growth equity investor.[3][4]

Indices

STOXX - Qontigo’s index provider, calculates and distributes the wide variety of indices,[8][9] including the well-known EURO STOXX 50, STOXX Europe 50, and STOXX Europe 600 indices, which are used as the underlying indices for numerous derivative financial instruments such as options, futures[10] and index funds.[11][12]

Qontigo also manages DAX (in German “Deutscher Aktienindex”, translated as “German stock index”) is a blue chip stock market index consisting of the 30 major Germany companies trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.[13] Among others, DAX brand is represented by MDAX, SDAX, TecDAX, DAX 50 ESG,[14] DAX ESG Target[15][16] and other indices of DAX family.[17]

Analytics

Qontigo offers a suite of quantitative risk analytics and portfolio-construction tools.[18] Axioma Analytics products are used by companies world-wide for risk analysis, portfolio rebalancing, and performance attribution.[19][20]
