Relec SA was founded in 1988 by Alain Roux[1]. It is a Swiss Company based in Yverdon-les-bains, that makes high precision audio equipment. Relec started business by developing OEM monitors for companies such as Studer[2], however in 2004 Relec branched out to sell their products under their own brand name “PSI Audio” [3].
Relec now produces a range of active speakers using analogue technology [4] and bass sound absorbers for active noise control[5].
The PSI Audio active speakers are used in some homes however more often as studio monitors for production, mixing and mastering within professional recording studios.
The patented[6] bass sound absorber (or active bass trap) absorbs low frequency sounds (between 15 and 150 Hz), it is used in studios to create the optimum recording environment, but can also be used in rooms that have problems with noise from machines developing loud low frequencies[7].
