YellowDog Limited is a UK technology company, headquartered in Bristol. YellowDog operates a multi-cloud management solution that identifies the best source of compute for every workload. Using predictive scheduling and orchestration, it determines, in real-time, what compute is available and which job it suits to make sure that deadlines and budgets are met.

History

YellowDog was founded by Gareth Williams in January 2015.[2] It was incorporated as YellowDog Limited in January 2015 with its first render application launched for sale in November 2015. It launched its second application: batch processing for Financial Services in March 2018 at Finovate Europe 2018.[3] Since then, YellowDog technology is used in multiple industries and global markets.

Originally envisioned as a peer to peer power sharing network,[4] YellowDog soon changed its power source from private providers to public cloud infrastructure and idle capacity in a handful of company data centers. It uses this underutilised power to give businesses and enterprise the processing power they need to complete their complex workloads.

YellowDog received crowdfunding from Seedrs in 2015[5] and subsequent investment through private equity networks and VC investment.[6]

Solutions

Provision and manage compute

Including virtual machines, storage, networks and containers in private and public clouds and on-premise.

'Best source of compute'

Determines the best resources for managing workloads by understanding price, performance and availability of compute, data, and network.

Co-ordinate compute workloads

Managing task allocation and tracking, resource co-ordination, data transport, data synchronisation, task inputs and outputs.

Provide infrastructure performance stability

API access to allow for integration with existing dashboards or schedulers. Providing: metrics and logging with the option of using YellowDog dashboards.

Predicted task and job completion time

This is based on YellowDog machine learning training models and algorithms. This currently requires YellowDog consultancy to define and train machine learning models.

YellowDog's headquarters are located in Bristol, UK at Runway East, located on Bristol Bridge.
