WUST UAV is a Chinese UAV developed by Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) and has entered service in China for aerial survey missions.
Survey UAV
WUST survey UAV is a fixed-wing UAV developed for aerial survey missions, and it is one of the few Chinese UAV with twin engines. The layout of WUST survey UAV is also unusual among UAVs in that although it is in conventional aircraft layout with high wing configuration, it lacks tailplanes. Furthermore, the vertical stabilizer points downward, as opposed to upward as in most aircraft. Propulsion is provided by a pair of two-blade propeller driven tractor engines mounted on the lead edge of the wing, with one on each side.[1] There are a total of fifteen checks that must be performed and only after passing all these checks, would the UAV be allowed to launch. Survey UAV lacks any landing gear because it is recovered via parachute, which opens at an altitude of fifty meter when UAV returns.[2] Specification:[3]
