Engineering:ZWYX YX

From HandWiki

YX series UAVs are Chinese UAVs developed by Beijing Zhong-Wei-Yu-Xiang Aerial Co., Ltd. (ZWYX, 北京中纬宇翔航拍技术有限公司), and have since deployed by various Chinese governmental establishments.

YX-1

YX-1 is the first UAV developed by ZWYX and it has a conventional layout with proplusion provided by a two-blade propeller driven by an engine mounted in the nose. Specification:[1]

  • Wingspan: 2.6 m
  • Length: 1.8 m
  • Height: 0.5 m
  • Wing area: 0.9 m2
  • Empty weight: 11 kg
  • Full weight: 15 kg
  • Fuel: 4 L
  • Max wind scale allowed for operation: 5
  • Cruise speed: 100 km/hr
  • Max speed:150 km/hr
  • Rate of climb: 5 m/s
  • Ceiling: 4 km
  • Range: 140 km
  • Payload: 4 kg
  • Endurance: 1.5 hr
  • Remote control range: 30 km

YX-2

YX-2 is slightly larger than YX-1 and also adopts conventional layout like YX-1. YX-2 has three vertical stabilizers in a configuration with two smaller ones on either side of the larger one in the center.[2]

  • Wingspan: 2.5 m
  • Length: 2.05 m
  • Height: 0.58 m
  • Wing area: 1.02 m2
  • Empty weight: 10 kg
  • Full weight: 18 kg
  • Fuel: > 3 L
  • Max wind scale allowed for operation: 5
  • Cruise speed: 110 km/hr
  • Max speed: 160 km/hr
  • Rate of climb: 15 m/s
  • Ceiling: 6 km
  • Range: 240 km
  • Payload: 6 kg
  • Endurance: 2 hr
  • Remote control range: 30 km

YX-3

YX-3 appears to be a scaledown version of Iflyer Hunter UAV, and both Chinese UAVs have identical twin-boom layout with twin-engine propulsion, and both have tricycle landing gear. The airframs of both UAV are only slightly different. What differentiates the two is in their flight control systems which are independently developed by their respective developers.[3]

  • Wingspan: 3 m
  • Length: 2.6 m
  • Height: 0.6 m
  • Wing area: 1.1 m2
  • Empty weight: 15 kg
  • Full weight: 28 kg
  • Fuel: > 6 L
  • Max wind scale allowed for operation: 5
  • Cruise speed: 110 km/hr
  • Max speed: 160 km/hr
  • Rate of climb: 10 m/s
  • Ceiling: 6 km
  • Range: 300 km
  • Payload: 10 kg
