DescriptionA Siberian Crane Family at Poyang Lake on December 2023.tif
English: This image was captured during the bird watching season at Poyang Lake at the end of 2023. The most impressive bird I had watched is the Siberian Crane, also known as Snow Crane. They have snowy white feathers all over their bodies, with only their feet and faces in red. Their noses are positioned in the mid-rear section of a deep brown bill. Their eyes are round, light yellow to white, with black-brown pupils from my observation in this image. They forage and perform other actions in family groups, usually consisting of two parents and one juvenile (with feathers in orange-yellow), forming a trio of three white cranes. I once witnessed a meeting between one family group and another; after a simple interaction, each group went their separate ways with their respective juveniles. This picture was captured during this event with my full-frame mirrorless camera and a 400 mm telephoto lens.
