Summary

Description
English: Comparison of two stitched pictures File:Blinden Schule KW 31 Fotos Mercator.jpg and File:Blinden Schule KW 31 Fotos Rectilinear.jpg of the school for the blind in Königs Wusterhausen. The first image was created in Mercator projection, the second in rectilinear (perspective) projection. The two have the same import data, the same 95° x 48° field of view and were created with the same program. The video shows the STITCH and CROP screenshots of the program as well as some details of two images as Microsoft Photos full-screen screenshots, a total of 20 screenshots twice, first quickly, then more slowly. The Mercator Panorama neither distorts the shapes of objects nor the perspective. Distant objects appear smaller than nearby objects. The left part of the building, viewed separately, has annihilation point on the left. The rectilinear image keeps lines straight, but distorts the shapes of off-center objects, shows ellipses instead of spheres and rhombusi instead of squares, and resembles a deformed drawing.
