Мама у меня заслуженный врач, врач-педиатр детский. Врач лаборант, она выдающийся человек, я ею очень горжусь. И она, будучи врачом, огромное количество детей поступало с лейкозами, с такими новообразованиями, грудные дети. И мать безумно боялась, что эта атомная станция, которая есть не что иное, как экспериментальная ядерная котельная, вы должны понимать, это не электростанция, а это в черте города хотели построить атомную котельную, с лозунгом «Мирный атом – в каждый дом», и можете себе представить, под гигантским давлением горячая вода, там давление 15 атмосфер, 20, вода должна была поступать в эту гнилую коммунальную систему. И так трубы рвутся, все не работает. И все должно отапливаться. Народ естественно стал страдать радиофобией, и вдруг мне мама говорит: слушай, ты физик, это неправильно, это непатриотично и то, что пишешь диссертацию, никому не надо, а ты давай людям объясни с научной точки зрения, какие есть риски, угрозы и что нам делать и так далее. И тогда я впервые в жизни написал письмо в газету.
