English: A brown bear scratching his/her back on a downed tree in Bear Country USA, which is right outside of Rapid City, South Dakota.
This is a derivative work of Joe Chill 2's File:Brown bear itching back on tree.ogv (2010-06-19). I removed as much camera shaking as I could, using Gunnar Thalin's Deshaker plugin for VirtualDub. I also removed as much of the rolling-shutter artifacts as I could, but couldn't remove them completely, due to not knowing what camera was used, the large macroblocks of the high compression originally used, and possibly also limitations of Deshaker.
Since the framerate is NTSC's 29.97, I looked at changing the pixel aspect ratio to be 4:3 rather than the 720x480 video's claimed 1:1, but I couldn't tell for sure whether that was correct, so left it as-is. Some jerkiness remains due to lots of missing frames in the video (yet the original .ogv metadata claimed it was fixed rather than variable framerate). That plus the lack of zooming and the high compression would seem to indicate this was shot on a 2010-era cellphone, which would make the original pixel aspect ratio more likely to be 1:1 than 4:3.
I was originally going to upload this as a new revision of the original .ogv file, but per
Help:Converting video's recommendations, I encoded to VP9/webm, and you can't change video formats in a new revision, nor can you rename the file in one.
