Deutsch: Mäander des Golfstroms, koloriert mit Daten zur Meeresoberflächentemperatur. Nachdem der Golfstrom Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, passiert hat, bildet er allmählich charakteristische Muster, sogenannte Mäander, wellenförmige Kämme und Gräben, die wie Kurven in einem riesigen, gewundenen Fluss aussehen.
English: Gulf Stream meanders colored white with Earth (includes alpha channel). After passing Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, the Gulf Stream gradually forms characteristic patterns known as meanders, wave-like ridges and troughs that resemble curves in a giant, winding river.
