English: Lithuanian (known natively as Lietuvių) is spoken by around 3 million people in Lithuania, where it enjoys official status as the country's national language, in parts of Poland, where it is recognized regionally, and by a diaspora of some 200,000 individuals worldwide. It has been a literary language since at least the 16th century, and is one of the Internet's 30 most-used languages today. A Baltic language, Lithuanian's closest relatives are Latvian, Latgalian and Prussian.
