Finance:Seyi Asagun
Seyi Asagun is a Nigerian finance executive, entrepreneur, and advocate for inclusive lending. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Entourage Integrated Trust Limited, a microfinance institution operating across 29 Nigerian states. Asagun is noted for his work in driving financial inclusion, especially among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and advancing digital lending solutions in Nigeria.[1][2]
Early life and education
Asagun was born and raised in Kaduna State, Nigeria. He holds an Ordinary National Diploma in Mathematics and Statistics from Kaduna Polytechnic (1999), a Diploma from the Nigerian Institute of Marketing, a bachelor's degree in economics from Obafemi Awolowo University (2005), an MBA from Business School Netherlands (2018), and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University (2025).[3]
Career
Early career
Asagun started his career at RMS Research and Marketing Services, working as a field officer and supervisor from 2000 to 2004. He subsequently joined Oceanic Bank (now Ecobank) during his NYSC, and remained there for eleven years, gaining experience in customer service, training, personal, and commercial banking.[4]
Entrepreneurship
In 2013, Asagun founded Entourage Integrated Trust Limited after a previous experience with a PET bottle manufacturing venture. Under his leadership, Entourage grew into a leading microfinance company, serving over 5,000 MSMEs nationally.[5][6] The company is recognized for:
- Developing hybrid lending models that integrate digital technology with community-based field agents.
- Introducing tailored loan repayment structures and championing financial counseling for responsible credit use.
- Promoting women's financial empowerment through products like the Weekly Group Product.[7]
- Securing foreign direct investment and forging strategic partnerships with fintechs and institutional investors.[8]
Advocacy and thought leadership
Asagun is a Fellow of the National Institute of Credit Administration and frequently participates in industry conferences and media discussions. Through his Substack newsletter, The Seyi Asagun Brief, he publishes insights on microfinance, SME resilience, and sustainable credit systems.[9] His public advocacy focuses on deepening financial literacy, supporting MSME sector resilience, and promoting financial inclusion for underserved populations.[10]
