Finance:Waterhouse VC
Waterhouse VC is an investment fund founded in August 2019 by Tom Waterhouse, who is the Chief Investment Officer of the fund. The Waterhouse fund focuses on 'B2B' suppliers to the wagering and gaming industry, including fixed odds providers and odds aggregators.[1] Waterhouse VC targets critical service providers positioned to take advantage of high growth within an area of the broader gaming and wagering industry.[2] Throughout the first two years since the fund's inception, Waterhouse VC has focused particularly on US sports wagering, an area of high growth since the 2018 repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA).[3] Since the repeal of PASPA, "US states (are) quickly opening up and allowing online betting for the first time after decades of it being banned outside casinos, resulting in a stampede into the market."[4]
In the 12 months to August 2020, the fund generated performance of 489%, and has returned 1802%.[4]
