Organization:Association of Mechanical Engineering Students
Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (AMES) is a students' club of mechanical engineering department of Kathmandu University. It is the oldest student club of mechanical engineering in Nepal. It provides platform to delve into the practical side of the contextual matters and involves the students in various co-curricular and extra curricular activities through various programs. The club is moderated by the department and conducts different programs as per the academic calendar in response to the department.[1]

To create accessible opportunities for personal and professional growth of individuals and make an impact in the community.[1]
Mission
Acting as a bridge between the students and the facilitators. The aim is to develop sufficient technical and leadership skills to the students to the students and provide them a platform to showcase their talent while making free access to study resources.[1]

- 2002 Establishment of Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (AMES).
- 2014 Publication of first magazine named Aviyantaa'14.
- 2019 Participation in as first team from Nepal in Shell Eco-marathon with team Junkiri.

Aviyantaa
Aviyantaa is a mechanical exhibition and magazine release event conducted by AMES each year at the end week of November.[5]
Junkiri
Junkiri is the first team from Nepal to participate in Shell Eco-marathon in 2019.[6][7]
