Organization:Equilibrium Point Society

From HandWiki

The Equilibrium Point Society, or E-Point Society is an American economics society based in Washington, DC. It has members from around the world and its stated mission is "to create opportunities for exchange of ideas among its members, economics professionals, and practitioners in economics and finance".[1] It is affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University Zanvyl Krieger School.[2]

The society was founded by Merve Hande Akmehmet in 2010. The name of the society comes from the equilibrium point in economics. In economics, economic equilibrium is a state of the world where economic forces are balanced and in the absence of external influences the (equilibrium) values of economic variables will not change. It is the point at which quantity demanded and quantity supplied are equal.[3] The "Equilibria", a.k.a. "the E Point", symbolizes the intersection point of different thoughts and demands within the Society.
