The Hindu Association of Hong Kong is a charitable organisation in Hong Kong which represents the interests of the Hindu population in the territory. The Hindu population in Hong Kong is estimated to be approximately 100,000. The Association assists the local Hindu community with a number of, mostly religious, matters, including the cremation of deceased persons. It is managed by a 15-member Managing Committee, currently headed by Mr Lal Hardasani.
Happy Valley Hindu Temple
The Association manages the Hindu Temple in Happy Valley, which also serves as the Association's headquarters.[1]
Hindu Cemetery
Located behind the Hindu Temple, the cemetery contains a small number of graves. After falling into a state of disrepair, the cemetery was the focus of a community effort in 2021 to clean the area and restore some of the damaged gravestones.[2] The cemetery also contains the Hindu and Sikh Cremation Memorial, which commemorates those who lost their lives during the First World War in Hong Kong.[3]
