The IMDEA Software Institute (Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies in Software Development Technologies) is an independent, non-profit research institute founded in 2006 and promoted by the Madrid Regional Government [1], to conduct research of excellence in methods, languages and tools that enable the cost-effective development of software products with sophisticated functionality and high quality.

The IMDEA Software Institute is part of an institutional framework (IMDEA Institutes[2]) created to foster the social and economic growth of the Madrid region by promoting research excellence and technology transfer in a number of strategic areas (water[3], food[4], energy[5], materials[6], nanoscience[7], networks[8] and software[9]) with high potential impact.

Organization

The Board of Trustees[10] is the governing body of the IMDEA Software Institute Foundation[2]. The Board of Trustees[10] is responsible for ensuring that the Foundation's objectives are met and that the funds that make up the Foundation's assets are properly managed.

The Scientific Advisory Board.[10] advises and supervises the Institute on all scientific matters, including the preparation of the strategic plans, the evaluation of performance against these plans, the supervision of the selection and promotion process. The members of the Scientific Advisory Board[10] are highly recognized scientists appointed by the Board of Trustees[10]
