History
International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan is specialized to educate religious and secular knowledge as an educational and scientific structural subdivision under the supervision of the Committee on Religious Affairs on the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Board of Muslims of Uzbekistan. We prepare highly trained specialists of bachelor's and master's degree in religious education spheres as Studies of the Quran, Hadith, Islam Rights, Aqida, Tasawwuf, Islam Economy and Finance, History of Islam, source studies and Philosophy and secular education spheres as Religious Studies, International Relations, Foreign languages, Pilgrimage tourism, Classic oriental literature. Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as scientific and scientific pedagogical staff engaged in in-depth research in this area, have the following knowledge about religious, (Theology, Hadith Sharif, Islamic Law, Aqeedah Sufism, Economy of Islam and Finance, History of Islam, Origins and Philosophy, Religion) and secular (international relations, foreign languages, travel tourism and classic Oriental literature). Educational and methodological support and coordination of activity of all Islamic educational institutions in the Republic. Graduates of the Academy (Tashkent Islamic University) are successfully operating in almost all ministries and agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, major international organizations, local and foreign companies. The Academy has a significant role in their achievements and success. Each graduate has not only acquired knowledge and skills, but also embodies the unique culture, tradition and taste of the Academy, giving young people a true impression.
Objectives

The Structure of the Academy
The Centre of Scientific Researches and Innovative Projects: The Centre of Scientific Researches and Innovative Projects was established on 16 April 2018 as an upgrade of the previous Centre of Islamic Studies and Scientific Researches. The main objectives of the Centre are to study Islamic religion and culture, national heritage, and ancient traditions scientifically, research and publish their sources, analyse and provide suggestions on modern religious processes. In the same way, the Centre have been doing researches in fundamental and applied research projects according to national and international organizations. Department of ISESCO Delegation of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan (former Tashkent Islamic University) made a visit to Headquarter of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) situated in Robot, Morocco to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, which creates a way to establish a Department of ISESCO at the Academy on 22–25 May 2017. At the Academy, the Department of ISESCO was launched on 26 August 2017 with an initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the 43rd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The purpose of the establishment of ISESCO Department is conducting special courses for students to learn systems of education, science and history of culture in the Muslim world and its present conditions.
Department of UNESCO Chair in the Comparative Study of World Religions: Department of UNESCO Chair in the Comparative Study of World Religions was established on September 16, 2000. Academic staff of the Department conducts scientific researches on comparative history of religions, characteristics and geopolitical importance of the development of the religious sphere in the context of globalization, enhance the culture of religious tolerance among youth generation, study core of the issues in teaching and learning Islamic studies, and analyse the rich scientific and cultural heritage of the ancestors in order to form a true nature of Islam among young generation.
United Printed & Publishing House: United Printed & Publishing House of the Academy has spent more than 20 years establishing itself as Uzbekistan's largest, most respected publisher of educational-methodical guide books, journals and newspapers, religious and Islamic scientific-popular books.
Over the years, United Printed & Publishing House has produced numerous publications including “Qur’oni karim ma’nolarining tarjima va tafsiri” (Translation and Interpretation of the Meaning of Quran) by Sheikh Abdulaziz Mansur, one of major fundamental publications “Islom ziyosi – o‘zbegim siymosida” (The Light of Islam on the view of Uzbeks), “Islom huquhshunosligi. Hanafiy mazhabi va O‘rta Osiyo faqihlari” (Islamic Jurisprudence. Hanafi Madhab and Central Asian Faqihs) by Abdulhakim Shar’iy Juzjoniy, “Qadimgi Arabiston va ilk islom: johiliyat asri” (Ancient Arabia and Pre-Islamic Period: Al-Jahiliyya “The Age of Ignorance”) by Ahadjon Hasanov, “Imom Buxoriy” (Imam Bukhari) by Abdussalom Al-Muborakfuriy with Uzbek translation of Prof. Ubaydulla Uvatov.
The Source Centre: Source Centre has been functioning on collecting scientific and spiritual masterpieces for over 20 years at the Academy. The Centre is a valuable library which hosts the most important works of our ancestors comprising several thousand printed and lithographic books and manuscripts in science, spirituality and religious studies. The Fund of the Centre have been enriching by purchasing old and rare manuscripts and lithographic books, which are mainly kept by the local people. Now it houses about 500 manuscripts and 1500 lithographic books as well as more than 10,000 printed books. The Centre could bring visitors to the history with a tour which includes entry to the Book of Quran, the oldest books on Science, Hadith, Sufism, Mathematics, Astronomy, Geometry and Medicine.
Academy Lyceum: The Academy Lyceum creates high standards of learning experiences in general and more specific subjects including Arabic and English languages, Social and Humanitarian topics. More than 40 experienced and skilful teachers have attitudes, concepts and knowledge to fully develop each pupil's potential. Nearly 250 pupils finished the Academy Lyceum in the last academic year 2017-2018. Currently, there are more than 500 pupils are studying at the Academy.
Ziyo Zukko Secondary School: Ziyo Zukko Secondary School was established in 2016 to create a continuing education system. Ziyo Zukko Secondary School has been getting an excellent reputation for high standards of teaching pupils in Uzbek and Russian languages. Experienced and dedicated teachers are chosen to provide academic, social and emotional support to the pupils. Pupils start to attend English and Russian courses which run from the first class as they begin learning Arabic language in the second class. In addition, our sport courses such as Chess, Taekwondo and Artistic Gymnastics courses are open for pupils in order to increase their interest and enthusiasm for many sports, improve their ability to inspire confidence and motivate performance, and enhance excellent team working abilities.
The Journal “Islom Tafakkuri” (Islamic Thought): The Journal “Islom Tafakkuri” (Islamic Thought) is published by the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan in Uzbek, English, Russian and Arabic languages. Scientific articles, research findings of the professors, researchers and specialists in Quranic Studies, Lexicography, Classical Philology, Fiqh and Hadith Studies as well as interesting information and news are regularly published in the journal.
Ziyo Media Centre: The Academy has its own Media Centre called Ziyo, where highly qualified specialists make religious, educational, social, historical documentary, scientific and public TV programmes and films. The Centre always makes an improvement to produce high-quality media content by cooperating with imams, professors and doctors as well as organising business trips to different regions of Uzbekistan and foreign countries.
