University Metropolitan Tirana,[1] also known as the University Metropolitan Tirana is a private university located in Tirana, Albania. It was founded in 2010, by a group of architects and engineers as a university focused on information technology, engineering and architecture.
With three faculties,[1] namely the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, the Faculty of Computer Science and IT and the Faculty of Economics, University Metropolitan Tirana strives to prepare young professionals in response to the demand of the labor market but also serve to the strategic interests in economic development of the country.[2]

Innovation
Artificial Intelligence[7]
The unique PhD program in Albania in Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems aims to contribute to the Artificial Intelligence practical use in different areas such as: medicine, energy, robotics, finance, economy, education, defense, transport and many others. UMT's internal lecturers and several foreign lecturers and scientific researchers at the most prestigious universities in France and America are engaged in this scientific project.
As of October 2023, UMT offers a Bachelor of Science program in Artificial Intelligence following licensing from the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Research and Development[8]
Metropolitan Incubator
Metropolitan Incubator is the first "On Campus" incubator in the district of Albanian universities. Its mission is to support the successful development of businesses, influencing regional economic development.
METINC offers mentoring, technical support and academic advice, co-working space, as well as access to various funding programs. Young people, startups or small and medium businesses, have the opportunity to be part of IDEA and Accelerator mentoring programs, to develop and grow their ideas, in accordance with market opportunities and demands.More than 20 startups have been part of the incubation at METINC and currently 12 startups or businesses are registered in the mentoring programs.
MetSinc
Metropolitan Social Incubator has a mission to discover and promote Albania's and region's most talented social entrepreneurs, assist them in gradually creating successful enterprises and building a prosperus innovative environment.
Metropolitan Social Incubator vision is to become the leading national environment that supports new entrepreneurial and innovative social business ideas, that contributes in direct and indirect job creation, thus being a promoter of economic development.
Startup City
"StartUp City" is the place where students and young people can develop their business ideas, presenting them in front of a prestigious jury. This competition aims to help all innovative young people with an entrepreneurial spirit to realize and present their business ideas. "Start Up City" adds value to the entrepreneurial ecosystem by helping startups grow and position themselves in the market.
During the years, StartUp City has been brought thanks to the collaboration of University Metropolitan Tirana, Metropolitan Incubator with the Municipality of Tirana, Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana, World Business Angels Forum Albania and private companies.
