Physics:Inclusive measurement of interactions
From HandWiki
An inclusive measurement of a particle interaction is a partial measurement. Only a few produced particles, sometimes only one, are singled out for identification and measurement, ignoring the details of all other interaction products. Reactions can thus be written
Inclusive measurements dominate at high energies, where the separation of tracks and particle identification become difficult, even when using the most advanced detectors. Triggers in complex interactions are necessarily inclusive: the signature of interesting physics will be defined in terms of few phenomena, like high- leptons or jets, disregarding the rest of the interaction.
