Short description: Officers of the Roman Catholic church who conducted examinations relating to church positions

Examiners were officers of the Roman Catholic church who conducted examinations relating to church positions. Both types of examiners conducted examinations for junior clergy, confessors, and prospective members of religious orders.[1][2]
