Hasta Uttanasana, Raised Arms Pose,[1][2][3][4] Raised Hands Pose,[5] Hand-Raising Pose,[6] or Sky Reaching Pose[7] is an asana.

Etymology

The name comes from the Sanskrit words hasta (हस्त) meaning "hand", uttana (उत्तान) meaning "intense stretch", "extension", "straight", or "stretched", and asana (आसन) meaning "posture" or "seat".

Description

It is hand raised and joined, while standing. It is 2nd and 11th asana in Surya Namaskara.
