Katana Games S.L. (formerly Efecto Caos S.L. and later Micro Espiral S.L.), doing business as KatGames (formerly Efecto Caos and later Xpiral) is an independent Spanish video game developer based in Zaragoza, Spain . The company was founded by Miguel Angel Tartaj in 1994 as Efecto Caos, but due to trademark issues, it used the trading name Xpiral from 2000, and adopted the legal name Micro Espiral shortly after. In 2001, it was renamed Katana Games, trading as KatGames. KatGames is most notable for developing Beetle Crazy Cup (2000) and the Dream Chronicles series.
