Software:Kingory

From HandWiki

Kingory is a strategic browser based web game, with game elements similar to Evony. Although, unlike Evony, which is set in medieval Europe, Kingory is set in Ancient China. It has a similar gaming style to Zoo Tycoon, and others. The game brings players into the three kingdoms period of Ancient China. The player assumes the role of a lord, who starts from a small city and over time, politically and technologically advances his city, eventually creating more domains. Every city has nine types of buildings in Town and four types of resource fields in Rural. They are responsible for managing military construction, resources production, politics, diplomatic affairs and research. Expand the realm of your power starting from your city.

Heroes

A popular element of the game is combat, more specifically recruiting military units, and using them in combat, The recruitment of heroes plays an important role in military affairs, politics and production of resources and other commodities. There are 914 high heroes at your disposal. Recruit heroes and equip them with the best equipment, which enables you to be an invincible lord. Heroes have the ability to command troops in battle and can hold positions in a city to enhance resource, troop, technology production. Each hero has traits, which can be upgraded via leveling up of heroes, and reassigning of said heroes' attributes. To recruit heroes you must build two structures, a Tavern, where heroes reside and await recruitment, and a Hero Lounge, where recruited heroes reside. once you recruit a hero, you can do several things with them other than controlling troops. Appointing a hero as castellan accelerates resource production, and technology research, other positions for heroes are military advisor, and captain general, both of which help your military.

Quests

Currency

The type of currency used in the game is similar to other strategic games like Evony or Castle of Heroes, other online strategic games. One currency used is gold, which is obtained from the income of taxes, and diamond, which must be purchased by the player with real world currency. The final type of currency is vouchers, which is a substitute for diamonds. Gold can be used for healing troops at a hospital, lobbying mutiny troops, rewarding heroes with gold, and researching technology. Diamonds can only be obtained with real world currency, but are used for purchasing items at the item mall, spinning the lottery wheel, and making market transactions. Vouchers can be awarded as quest rewards and can be obtained multiple ways, but can only be used for purchasing items at the item mall.

Gameplay

At the beginning of the game you are provided with an interface allowing you to choose your lord's name, and to select the prefecture where you will reside. Once that is done you are automatically given a single city and provided with clearings to construct buildings. Cities and military revolve around the consumption of resources; food, lumber, stone, and iron. To produce resources you must construct resource fields in the rural area of your city. Without resources buildings can't be constructed, and the city will come to a standstill. Another important factor is population, which can be consumed for training soldiers, collecting taxes and working resource fields. Without a peasant population, the previous things can't be done, you can acquire more peasants by building and upgrading cottages.

Military

At some point in the game the player will decide to recruit soldiers to make an army. Recruiting soldiers consumes resources, and once they have been recruited, they consume food. Taking care of an army requires consumption of food. If an army is too large the production of food will fall, and that may cause troops to engage in mutinies. Disloyal troops will be held at a rally spot, waiting to be lobbied with gold, and unless this is done they will eventually flee. During combat it is likely that your[who?] troops will suffer casualties. Casualties are troops that have been injured in battle, or killed. Injured units will be transported to a hospital at a rally spot and must be cured with gold before they die. A rally spot is where units are housed and wait between battles, with the unit capacity for a rally spot based upon its level. To recruit soldiers one must first have barracks constructed. Furthermore, to recruit better troops, you must have a certain amount of resources at your disposal, and you must have a certain level of technology prepared. For example, if you want to recruit an archer, you must have barracks, level 4, and technology required is projectile level 1, 300 food, 350 lumber, and 300 iron.

Construction

In a city, the player must construct buildings to support itself. The city must have a population, which is housed in cottages. Recruiting troops consumes the citie's population, and to recruit troops and house them the player must build barracks and a rally spot. The city has a certain number of clearings, so only a limited number of buildings can be constructed.
