Software:OpenGauss
openGauss is an open source relational database management system that is released with the Mulan PSL v2.[1] The openGauss kernel is derived from PostgreSQL and improved based on Huawei's experience in the database field and continuously provides competitive features tailored to enterprise-class scenarios. In addition, openGauss is a free database platform that encourages community contribution and collaboration.[2]
History
At Huawei Connect 2019 on September 19, Huawei announced that its database product would go open source and named it as openGauss.[3]
On June 30, 2020, the source code of the openGauss database went open source officially.[4]
Version Release
Currently, the openGauss is planned to be released every six months with a minor version and every year with a major version. The version lifecycle is temporarily set to three years.
