History

Seek AI was founded in 2021 by Sarah Nagy with the mission of using generative AI in reducing inefficiencies in accessing businesses’ data.[1] The product was developed under the tagline “Seek what matters” with beta customers throughout 2022, and officially launched to the public in October 2022.[2] Operating in the B2B Saas, Fintech, CPG (consumer product goods) and B2C e-commerce vertical markets, some of Seek AI’s early customers included Battlefin and Data Marketplace.[3]

In April 2022, Seek completed its first seed round of funding for an undisclosed amount led by angel investor group ARC Angel Fund, and venture capitals Differential Ventures and Function Collective.[4]

In October 2022, Seek AI was chosen as part of Sequoia Capital’s Generative AI Application Landscape market map.[5]

In January 2023, the company announced the completion of its $7.5M pre-seed and seed funding rounds led by Conviction Partners and Battery Ventures, with participation Bob Muglia, Tristan Handy, Mustafa Suleyman and NJP Ventures.[6]

Technology

Operating within the generative AI landscape, Seek’s platform uses complex machine learning models with large parameters to generate code. Through an interface which enables users to interact with the data through natural language processing, Seek’s solutions allows non-technical users to ask questions and get the platform to write the code necessary to get the answers, enabling data teams to work more efficiently by speeding up manual tasks.[8]

The platform’s natural language interface can be accessed through a variety of ways such as email, text messages, a CRM system, or via Slack.[9]

The generative AI used on Seek’s platform includes DALL-E, Stable Diffusion and GPT-3 to automate the data retrieval process.
