SketchAR is an Augmented Reality drawing mobile app that uses a smartphone and its camera to trace images.[4]

The app was created by Andrey Drobitko (Russian: Андрей Дробитько) and Alexandr Danilin, SketchAR was launched in April 2017 as a free mobile app on iOS, Android, and MS Hololens glasses. SketchAR is an AI-based mobile app to increase people's creativity via drawing using augmented reality, and also it’s a platform to share artworks with millions. [4] The user sees a virtual image on a real surface through a smartphone screen. Then trace it via a real pencil, brush, or marker. AR is there to guide users while creating a real piece of art in real-time. There is a library of high-quality templates and step-by-step drawing lessons. Also, users can convert their photos into traceable artworks.[5] SketchAR is democratizing creativity and engaging people in an artistic experience: from professionals who use the app as a new tool to scale sketches onto large surfaces like a wall to novices in drawing to increase their creativity and drawing skills.
