The Maytenus robusta Reissek (Brazil: cafezinho do mato or coração de bugre) is a Brazilian herb which used in folk medicine for gastric ulcers.[1][2][3]

Research

One study found that M. robusta has ulcer healing properties, mainly through the strengthening of protective factors of the gastric mucosa, such as mucus layer, antioxidant defenses and cell proliferation.[4]
