Square meters per pixel

Square meters per pixel (m2/pixel) is the common unit of resolution for remote digital imaging of the surfaces of terrestrial objects of the Solar System, including the Earth.

Some resolutions include:

  • ASTER (on board Terra in Earth orbit): 15–90 m2/pixel.
