Rocket Factory Augsburg AG, also referred to as Rocket Factory Augsburg or simply RFA, is a German startup rocket company founded in 2018. The company's headquarters are based in Augsburg, close to Munich.
A multistage rocket, capable of transporting a small payload to low Earth orbit (LEO), is currently under development.[1]
Rocket Factory Augsburg plans to launch from Andøya Space in Sweden as early as 2022.[1]
History
Rocket Factory Augburg was founded in 2018 by OHB SE, a German space technology company that was known for development components and tanks for the Ariane 5 and upcoming Ariane 6 launch vehicles as well as the European Space Agency (ESA) Galileo navigation satellites.[2]
