File:Formica yessensis CASENT0906318 head view.tif Formica yessensis is a species of ant in the genus Formica,[1] being known from eastern Asia and Japan .[2] This species is especially known for its large colonies, sometimes exceeding 300 million individuals.[citation needed] The workers are typically 8-10 mm in length.
